Chris Osgood takes a break in practice before his first game as a goalie for the Detroit Red Wings, against the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 1993-94 season. He played 41 games his rookie year. Osgood announced his retirement Tuesday, July 19, 2011, after 401 games, three Stanley Cups and 17 seasons in the NHL.
