Boom times, hard times in Highland Park

The Langdon farm was on the west side of Woodward where Labelle Avenue is now located. There were eight of these 20-acre farms, side by side, when Highland Park was first platted. Few improvements were made because owners were waiting for real estate prices to rise as Detroit spread northward at the turn of the century.
