Dueling protests over Gaza conflict held in Metro Detroit

Detroit area Jewish community members and supporters rally at Congregation Shaarey Zedek in Southfield in support of Israel's attack on the Gaza Strip on Thursday Jan. 8, 2009. Protesters on both sides of the conflict rallied in the area today. There are about 250,000 residents of Arab descent in Metro Detroit and an additional 90,000 Chaldeans, residents of Iraqi descent who do not consider themselves Arab. There are about 75,000 Jews.
