Hot rods spice up a green future

Steve Darnell's rat rod started out as a 1928 Dodge sedan. He borrowed parts from John Deere tractors and even a coal mining truck, installed a Cummins diesel engine twin-turbocharged to nearly 700 horsepower, and has run sub-12-second sprints on the drag strip, yet claims 25 mpg on the highway.
