Hot rods spice up a green future

Ford likes its new EcoBoost twin-turbocharged V6 engine so much it commissioned Detroit Street Rods of Carolina Beach, N.C., to craft this 1934 Ford Three-Window Coupe and empower it with the 400-horsepower, 400-pound-feet motor. Kurt Kurtenbach of Sterling Heights is listed as the owner of a car that includes a body from Experi-metal, Inc., of Sterling Heights and components from Shelby Trim and Kustom Creations, both of Sterling Heights, Technosports Inc., of Livonia, and others. Technosports configured engine's usual the front-wheel-drive application to rear-wheel drive for the hot rod, relocated the turbochargers and created the plumbing for the side-mounted exhaust system.
